Naver Maps: Find your way by bus / subway
By all accounts, Naver Maps has surpassed Google Maps and Daum Maps in usefulness on both iPhone and Android platforms. It is fast, clear, and full of useful information and features. I will focus on transit directions this time, as that is what I have found sets it apart from the rest.
Finding your way by bus in Korea
First, you should have the Naver Maps App (on iTunes App Store and Android Market / T-Store)
Step 1: Open the main menu, and select 빠른길찾기 (Highlighted in picture)
Step 2: Choose your Departure and Arrival Locations (hit the target icon for current location), then click 대중교통 길찾기 (Highlighted)
Step 3: You are presented with a list of options including Subway and Bus options, including info for Bus-Bus, Subway-Bus, Subway-Subway transfers. I like buses, so I’ll go with the 6628 bus.
Step 4: Now you have a listing of your trip information. Click on the Departure address for a map.
Step 5: In locations where there are multiple bus stops, it can be hard to know which is the right one, so naver gives you walking directions to the bus stop. Click on the blue “Bus” circle, and then click the white pointer to get a street view of the stop.
Further, clicking the arrows will bring you along every step of your trip on the map. You will be presented with walking directions to the destination, if applicable.
